Albany, Minnesota, a community of 2,221, is located in Stearns County, twenty
miles west of St. Cloud and eighty miles northwest of Minneapolis-St. Paul on
Interstate 94 (I-94). Albany has direct access to State Highway 238, which
originates in Albany. Whether you are stopping for a short time on your way
through or are in the area for a vacation, we are sure that you will find many
activities to enjoy and will receive a warm welcome from the citizens of Albany.
Topography
The City of Albany is located in the central portion of the State of Minnesota.
Its average elevation is 1,190 feet above sea level and is gently rolling
terrain. Excellent productive soils and an abundant ground water supply can be
found in the City of Albany.
Economic
Development
The community is very active in economic development.
Enjoy a small town atmosphere in an agricultural community. A new City
Administration building was constructed in 1999 which includes the
Police Department and Library.
