Parks and Recreation Facilities   

 

North Park is the City's largest park, approximately 56 acres located north and east of the Albany Hospital.  It abuts North lake and provides hike/bike tails, playground equipment, 18-hold disc golf, softball field, tennis court, picnic shelters, skate board jumps/rails, and basketball courts.

 

NORTH PARK PICNIC SHELTER RESERVATION FORM

The Jaycee Shelter is located north of the North Lake on Hwy #238.  The enclosed shelter includes a kitchenette (with electric), stove, sink, refrigerator, and bathroom facilities.  The total capacity of the Jaycee Shelter is 120 people.  The shelter is equipped with picnic tables both inside and the outside covered picnic area.  The site has an 18-hold disc golf course, skateboard jumps/rails, tennis courts, basketball courts nearby, bicycle and walking trails, playground equipment and a small primitive camping area.  The total parking lot capacity is approximately 50 vehicles.

 

NOTE:  Alcohol may be served (but not sold) if you have reservations to use

the shelter.  No glass is allowed.

 

The Lions Shelter is the open gazebo type structure located in North Park and offers ball

diamonds, open gazebo picnic facilities, tennis courts, and ice skating during the winter months.

 

The Country Estates Park is a 3-acre neighborhood park located within the Country Estates

Subdivision and Blattner's Golf View Subdivision. This park is also located one block from the 

Lake Wobegon® Trail to provide trail users rest and relaxation.

 

The Hall's Highview Park, located in Hall's Highview Addition, was recently expanded to 3

acres to include playground and baseball activities.

 

Albany Golf Course, located right off Interstate-94, is a beautiful 18-hole, municipal golf course open to the public. Many water hazards exist, which make it a challenge for all to enjoy.

 

The LAKE WOBEGON® REGIONAL TRAIL construction began in March of 1998. It is a 28-mile long, 10-foot wide bituminous trail, which links the communities of Sauk Centre, Melrose, Freeport, Albany, Holdingford, and Avon, and is designed for bicycles, walking, snowmobiles, roller blades, skateboards, jogging, and roller skies.  Albany's trail head, located at the Legion Memorial Park, provides access to and from the trail, serves as an accessible location for emergency vehicles, provides a location for education and information, and includes a parking area, toilet facilities and picnic area.

 

 
Lodging
The Country Inn & Suites® by Carlson in Albany features 48 guest rooms for overnight lodging for visitors to the community. All accommodations include 25" color TV, in-room coffee makers, refrigerators, and microwaves. Additional amenities include complimentary continental "plus" breakfast, heated pool and whirlpool, sauna, meeting room, free local calls, and free weekday USA Today newspaper.

NORTH PARK PICNIC SHELTER RESERVATION FORM

The North Park is located on the north end of Albany and offers playground

equipment, tennis courts, picnic and outdoor toilet facilities, skateboarding, bicycle and walking trails, and ball diamonds.  We hope you enjoy the use of the facilities.                                             

                                      THE COST FOR RESERVATION IS:

Resident-$50/shelter/day, Non-resident-$100/shelter/day,

Non-profit Organizations-No charge.

Make check payable to “City of Albany” and mail completed form and payment to the City of Albany, P. O. Box 370, Albany, MN, 56307.

If we do not receive payment within 15 days, your reservation may not be held.
