North Park and offers ball
diamonds, open gazebo picnic facilities, tennis courts, and ice
skating during the winter months.
The
Country Estates Park is a 3-acre neighborhood park located within
the Country Estates
Subdivision
and Blattner's Golf View Subdivision. This park is also located one
block from the Lake Wobegon® Trail to
provide trail users rest and relaxation. The Hall's Highview Park, located in Hall's Highview
Addition, was recently expanded to 3 acres to
include playground and baseball activities.
Albany Golf Course, located right off Interstate-94, is a
beautiful 18-hole, municipal golf course open to the public.
Many water hazards exist, which make it a challenge for all to
enjoy. The
LAKE WOBEGON® REGIONAL TRAIL construction began in March
of 1998. It is a 28-mile long, 10-foot wide bituminous trail,
which links the communities of Sauk Centre, Melrose, Freeport,
Albany, Holdingford, and Avon, and is designed for bicycles,
walking, snowmobiles, roller blades, skateboards, jogging, and
roller skies. Albany's trail head, located at the Legion
Memorial Park, provides access to and from the trail, serves as
an accessible location for emergency vehicles, provides a
location for education and information, and includes a parking
area, toilet facilities and picnic area.
