Estimated community population was 2,780 and the household estimate was 1,190as of April 1, 2020. (source: MN State Demographer).  Albany is located in Stearns County, 20 miles west of St. Cloud and 80 miles northwest of Minneapolis/St. Paul on Interstate 94 (I-94).  Albany has direct access to State Highway 238, which originates in Albany.  The City of Albany owns and operates a public championship 18-hole golf course including the new Toptracer driving range.
