Parks & Recreation
The City of Albany is enriched with six different parks throughout the city with North Park being the City's largest. North Park, Halls Highview Park, The Highlands Park, Lions Park, Veteran's Park, and Country Estates Park all offer diverse recreational opportunities for all ages.
North Park is the City's largest park at approximately 56 acres located on the north side of Albany along State Hwy. #238. North Park borders North Lake and provides numerous activities such as:
- Walking and bike paths
- Playground equipment
- Jaycee and Lions Shelter
- Splash Pad (Open Memorial Day through Labor Day)
- 18-hole disc golf
- Picnic Shelters
- Softball field, tennis, basketball, and six pickleball courts.
- Dog park
- BMX Pump track and Skate Board Park
The Jaycee and the Lions Shelters are located in the North Park and are available to reserve for private events such as birthday, graduation, family reunions, etc.
THE SHELTERS ARE OPEN FOR USE MAY 1ST THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30TH!
The Jaycee Shelter | 771 1st Street, Albany, MN 56307 | is located north of the North Lake on Hwy #238. The enclosed shelter includes a kitchenette with electric, stove, sink, refrigerator, and bathroom facilities (Please note that these bathroom facilities remain open to the general public throughout the day). The total capacity of the Jaycee Shelter is 120 people. The shelter is equipped with tables & chairs both inside and the outside covered picnic area. The site has skateboard jumps/rails, pickleball courts, bicycle and walking trails, and playground equipment. The total parking lot capacity is approximately 50 vehicles.

The cost to rent the Jaycee Shelter is $150.00/day (includes MN sales tax)
NO REFUNDS FOR CANCELLATION OF RESERVATIONS.
Shelter rentals are for the reserved date ONLY. Please note that early setup or decorating the night before requires an additional day rental.

To make reservations for the JC Shelter, please fill out a reservation form (link above) and email to either Heather at hcruz@ci.albany.mn.us or Molly at mhoppe@ci.albany.mn.us. Payment in full is required at time of reservation. Payment can be made in person with check or cash, or over the phone with card by calling 320-845-4244. Payments and reservation forms may also be placed into the drop box on the front of city hall.
The Lions Shelter | 300 Soo Line Avenue, Albany, MN 56307 | is located on the north side of North Park, along Soo Line Avenue, and is in close proximity to the splash pad. This open shelter includes an enclosed kitchenette with serving window, electric, oven/range, sink, refrigerator, and bathroom facilities (Please note that these bathroom facilities remain open to the general public throughout the day). The total capacity of the Lion's Shelter is approximately 50 people. The shelter is equipped with six large picnic tables for seating. This site offers ball diamonds, picnic facilities, disc golf, and is close to the splashpad. The total parking lot capacity is approximately 50 vehicles.

The cost to rent the Lions Shelter is $150.00/day (includes MN sales tax)
